We're so excited to share highlights from our Virtual Topping Off Ceremony – less than a year after breaking ground! On Tuesday, August 11, CHKD marked a significant step toward bolstering children’s mental health care in Virginia by raising the highest beam on our 60-bed, 14-story mental health hospital and outpatient center slated to open in 2022. 

While the tower is going up, we are also building our mental health team with new psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists. These leading pediatric mental health experts are creating a program with innovative, research-based treatments and protocols to bring a new level of care to our region. 

We plan to keep you updated as we work together to build a brighter future for our children.
